Disneyland’s weather forecast for today is looking a bit different from yesterday, but in other ways, similar to yesteryear. With the temperature predicted to be ten degrees warmer, you’ll be able to soak up the sun and see the timeless beauty the park and it’s guests have to offer.
At “the happiest place on earth,” the creativity and magical spark can light fires in the imagination of children and adults. It’s a place where people from all walks of life are welcomed and accepted, sharing in their Disney fandom. Today, another popular fandom, Pin-up girls, are coming together with their love of all things Disney and everything retro-vintage fashion.
The “Pinup Parade in the Park” is taking place at the original Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California. This bi-annual meet-up is hosted by Pinup Girl Clothing. It’s a meet and greet where in the past, more than 1,000 fans of the era have participated. Coming dressed in the style that originated in the beginning of the 20th century, recreating the class and nostalgia of a pin-up girl.
The clothing company was founded in 1996 by Head Designer, Laura Bynes, and since has helped inspire women of all shapes and sizes to embrace their bodies and own their unique style. Pinup Girl Clothing’s mission is to create vintage-inspired, American-made couture, fit for every body. For this reason, along with their personalized service, affordable price and quality, they have captured a large following. Consisting of pin-up girl fashionistas, also known as PUGs.
With the introduction of their Fairytale Fantasy Collection and The Magic of Mary Blair Collection, the printed whimsical art on the clothing draws the Disney and the PUG fans together. Creating a look called Disneybounding. Where it is part Disney, part pin-up. So logically, Disneyland is the only appropriate place to gather, on a day like today, to show off the best #PinupGirlClothing and #Disneybounding fashion.
The Park was built in the 1950s so it will always have a classic look and timeless feel. With the “Pinup Parade,” you might really think you are back in time, on Opening Day.
Live it up!
