Samantha Aragon is the type of young female entrepreneur we love to admire. Known by her moniker Lil’ Fresh Sam, she started her funky fresh streetwear line Infatué at only 19 years old. The label is not just any ruf of the mill streetwear brand, as Sam’s signature design can make anyone stand out in a crowd. Sam has designed for the likes of Method Man, Don Benjamin, Mike Manning and more and continues to make a name for herself with her eclectic, artistic works.

Started as a “cut and sew” higher-end line, the label has progressed to include custom and limited edition pieces. What’s unique for Sam is that she has been the sole person responsible for the brand’s ongoing development. Going up against other designers in a male dominated industry hasn’t always been easy, though Sam credits her resillience, determination and commitment for being able to tread the waters. “It’s always a challenge being a woman, especially a young woman,” says Sam.

Following her dream, the young designer moved to Los Angeles two months ago from her hometown of Denver, and has already made a name for herself in the City of Angels. As her hard work has begun to pay off, she can now comfortably reflect on her progress. “When I first started out there were so many obstacles. For my first collection I traded with a lady who didn’t speak any English and I didn’t speak Spanish so we created the collection with drawings and no words.” This sort of dedication and adaptability has propelled Sam into the big leagues of apparel design.

The young visionary’s story doesn’t come without hardship, as she admittedly wasn’t always poised for greatness. In fact, she was quite the rebellious teenager and experienced difficulties that led to run-ins with the law. Listen to how she has evolved into what she is today, as told in her own words from a recent documentary for #SELFMADE, the epitome of the Infatué philosophy.

Infatué, it’s all in the name for the young designer. It means infatuation in French, which is how she wants her clients to feel about her designs; to fall completely in love with them and how they make them feel. Sam is also of French descent, so the name is a 360 manifestation of her creativity, drive and original beginnings.

The brand recently launched their new limited edition “Les Art Capsule: Sophisticated Streetwear” line, which is already almost sold out. So get on it, order a piece and fall completely in love with yourself and with our favorite new LA designer. Shop online at Infatué.
