DJ Crooks is di baddis, as stated in his Instagram profile, and we tend to agree as do many other Angelinos. Crooks, a Jamaica native now residing in L.A., is the go-to host and experience curator for many of the top Caribbean parties that pass through Los Angeles. When asked about this specialized skill he said:

"Hosting amazing events, like BoomYard, Rockers Room, RihRih and Bless Up LA is a blessing. Interest in Caribbean culture is growing in Los Angeles and I'm happy to be a component of our cultural growth."

Not only does he entertain the crowd on the mic, Crooks keeps the party going by switching to the controls at one of his weekly residencies. As a seasoned DJ professional, Crooks has released a slew of his own mixtapes and many original songs including Jay-5Flow's, "Bounce Nonstop," and the popular song, "MVP" by Crazyhype ft. Oceana, to name a few. He can also be heard on Dash Radio under the Delicious Vinyl Radio Station every Sunday for Rockers Room Radio at 10AM-12PM for some pure roots reggae vibrations.

Yet, today is our lucky day, as we are treated to a new DJ Crooks mixtape, All Aboard which is the second edition of his Firenation dancehall mix series. When asked about the inspiration for the new project Crooks answered:

"The inspiration is to highlight the essence of dancehall music's passionate tribalistic nature."

All Aboard can be found on Soundcloud, Mixcloud and along with many of his other mixes. The new mix starts with Vybz Kartel's newest single, hence the name of the mixtape, which also sets the tone and prepares the listener for nothing but pure fire. Hop on! You won't want to miss this ride.
