So much of the new reggae music of today has been inspired by the sounds and the musicians of it’s past. Many of these artist’s who’ve paved the way for reggae music can be found in the Switzerland based sound, Jemani Jahka’s, Looking Back Mixtape series. The series will reflect on past decades of Jamaican music drummed up by Lion K and Nigel of Jemani Jahka Sound who established themselves in 2010 out of Ticino, Switzerland. The first chapter of the Looking Back Mixtape series is the 1960’s Edition taking it’s listeners back to where the sweet sound of reggae and ska music began. The mixtape features, “It Mek” from Desmond Dekker, “Night and Day,” by Toots & The Maytals followed by, “A Change Is Gonna Come,” sung by Ken Parker, The Techniques’, “Queen Majestiy,” to “Hard Man Fi Dead,” by Prince Buster.
