One thing in life that will always keep you grounded is to remember where you came from. David Brooks, who fans have come to know as Mavado, has done that by paying respects to his mother. In a single released earlier this year titled, "Mama," Mavado expresses admiration for his strength influenced by the determination of his mother, while being grateful for the ability to give it back in return.
"Mama, me never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever lef' you out. Me never lef' you inna the board house pon the Gully, me take you out. You proud of your son, so me proud of myself. You teach me fi pray over myself," he sings.
The singer recently toured west Africa where he landed in The Gambia. Mavado filmed parts of his travels, the locals, his performance, and his fans creating a touching music video. Watch "Mama" below here on KingstonToLA.
