On April 1st, Kendrick Lamar’s second video “King Kunta” from his new album “To Pimp a Butterfly” premiered in Time Square, and well was … square ready. According to the video’s director, Director X, the video was shot in a ratio to allow people to share and post clips on Instagram, as well as other social media outlets. “It’s a new age man. Instagram and all that. We’re in a new age of aspect ratios and you’ve gotta embrace that,” the director told Complex. “So we played with aspect ratios, new filters, everything.
