Jamaican Dj and producer, KickRaux, is taking the electronic dance music scene by storm. Born in Portmore Jamaica and raised in Florida, “Kick” is a genre bending taste-maker with an ear for underground music. We think his style can easily transition to a more mainstream audience. Kick’s earliest childhood memories involve music and centers around his mother’s expansive record collection. Growing up music filled his house, and it consisted of the groovy sounds from Motown Records.
While emerging unto the scene, Kick first gained notice from one of KingstontoLA’s favorite dancehall artists Mavado. This was due to Kick’s mashup in early 2013 of Movado’s popular hit “Take it,” featuring Jamaican Canadian singer Karian Sang, and Taylor Swift’s song, “I Knew You Were Trouble.” As the mashup gained more play throughout Jamaican clubs, Movado uploaded a video of himself driving around Jamaica singing along to the remix.
Kick then produced a dance mix of MIA’s international hit “XXXO” featuring Jay-Z. It became an official mix released by Interscope Records. These two milestones got the buzz going. Kick was now ready to take the festival circuit on and share his unique mashup/remix sound to the masses.
In 2014, Kick began working with fellow Jamaican Dj Walshy Fire. Fire who is part of the group Major Lazer, remixed Que’s club hip-hop hit “OG Bobby Johnson” with Kick. Creating a mix of high-energy, rough trap sound that went viral. The song was released as an official mix by Atlantic Records. On a roll, Kick was repeatedly approached by different artists and labels asking for an official KickRaux remix of their singles. The legendary record label Motown, who was largely responsible for Kick’s infatuation with music, asked him for a remix of “She Knows,” featuring Ne-Yo and Juicy J. At the time, that song was one of Kick’s favorite jams. Honored to be released under the Motown name, he gladly accepted. Kick ended 2014 with a bang, finishing the year off with support from numerous labels, artists and Dj’s. His mixes received festival play from Diplo, Flosstradamus and many others. Kick also got some on-air radio play from Power 106 in Los Angeles.
In 2015, Kick found himself starting the year by working with Walshy Fire and Motown again producing a dance mix for the song “My Main” by recording artist Mila J featuring Ty Dolla $ign. He also worked with Mad Decent’s newest addition, Unlike Pluto, on the soulful yet edgy mix of “Palace.” Kick also released his first single “Mojito” off his upcoming EP. The new EP will be out later this year, under his own record label Future Dancehall. He spent two months in Jamaica recording and working with numerous artists to create his highly anticipated EP. Recently, he finished filming a video for his second single “Carnival Girl,” out soon.

In June, KickRaux was announced as a headlining act for Jillionaire’s annual Chicken and Beer tour that kicks off July 5th in NYC. He will join the roster of many high-profile Dj’s and will be mixing on the stage in Atlanta on July 19th.
KickRaux is on the rise and will continue to skip into the hearts of many electro-trap house heads across the globe.
