Those familiar with the dancehall scene, know that with every major single comes the dancehall remix. Dancehall veteran, Elephant Man, recently teamed up with renowned producer Anju Blaxx for a hilarious version of Drake’s “Hotline Bling.” The riddim is hot and the Elephant Man-Anju Blaxx collabo is just another reason to love the song.

Elephant Man also sheds some light on Jamaican social issues, where iPhones and Androids are not as easy to come by as those in the first world may think. Hashtag, third world problems (or first world for that matter). Elephant Man calls out all “phone tiefs” and the need for Jamaicans to hide their phones while walking down the street. It seems extreme, but Elephant Man is right on point. Even though it is a bit humorous, with lines that rhyme with the original song, such as “bring back my phone GPS is tracking you,” it is true that such is life in the land of wood and water. Jamaica to the world.

Jam out to Elephant Man and Anju Blaxx’s “Cellphone Ting” in KingstontoLA’s latest installment of #DancehallFridays!
