Vybz Kartel. As we have said before, nothing can hold the World Boss back from expanding his catalog of music. This January, seven new Vybz Kartel tracks were dropped. Nuff work! Nuff respect! Here’s to hoping there will be music videos to accompany each of these fresh new jams. Especially if they are anything like Bet Mi Money!

The Gaza King started the new year with a bang by releasing Bet Mi Money on January 6th.  We’ll call it an early birthday gift for the imprisoned artist, who celebrated his 40th Earthstrong on January 7th. The video was shot featuring the sexy, gorgeous and always stunning Caribbean queen, Rihanna. Draped in gold Chanel jewelry, she dances on a pole and is the epitome of scintillating. Thanks Vybz, it feels like a happy birthday to all of us! You have to watch the video a few times. We did.

Five days later, on January 11th, Kartel released My Girl. The new song features Teetimus, a dancehall producer and musician living in New York by way of Kingston. The music video directed by Bruck Up, was shot earlier this month and will feature some of our favorite dancehall dancers; Nelly Danca and Aliyah Ali, from the Brooklyn based Danca Family, lead by renowned choreographer Blacka Di Danca. We’re really looking forward to the video’s debut. Have a listen to the enticing single below:

The following day on January 12th, Armed and Dangerous hit. The single, featuring reggae and dancehall artist Rico Tayla, is especially serious. The song was produced by Yardstyle Entertainment. The big beat sound and killer lyrics keep your head steadily bobbing and hands clapping. Madd ting!

On January 14th, a bomb Soca remix of Kartel’s song, Bicycle Ride surfaced. Bunji Garlin, a reggae soca artist from Trinidad, remixed the song into a fast paced calypso riddim so strong it will have your body moving. Bicycle Ride will definitely get you pumped. We recommend adding it to your ‘new year, new me,’ workout playlist. The single was released with impeccable timing, right in time for Carnival season.

The sweet and sexy Caribbean Pop Princess from St. Lucia,  Mon Chérie, once again teamed up with Vyzbz Kartel on her newest single, Gates Of Heaven, debuting on January 21st. Gaza forever.

A day later Move Yuh Hand dropped. This song reminds us of classic Kartel. One that is sure to make its way into the hands of all the best DJ’s.

And on Tuesday, January 26th, the Vybz Kartel remix of the popular Major Lazer produced track, Powerful, by Ellie Goulding featuring Tarrus Riley appeared! So lit. So fly! Vybz is unstoppable.

So far in 2016, dancehall music fans have been treated to several moments of greatness, all thanks to the World Boss. If this is any indication of what is to come, we’re all ears. Big up yuhself, Vybz!
