Pia Mia Perez, known to her fans as Pia Mia, has become one of 2014’s most intriguing newcomers. Known for her urban-chic fashion sense, Pia proudly hails from the island of Guam, and she represents for her island whenever she gets the opportunity.  As fellow islanders, we here at Kingston to LA love this attribute.

Signed to Interscope records, the 18-year-old attracted industry attention after posting several videos of herself covering popular songs. Drake’s 2013 single, “Hold On, We’re Going Home,” is Pia’s most notable cover, with over five million views on YouTube. Also, let’s be honest, her Instagram is nothing to F with. One day she is singing while riding shotgun, the next she is parring with other young fashionista’s and mega celebs like Kylie Jenner.

Her most recent visit to Guam, after the release of several hit singles in the US, gives us a glimpse into the life of one of the busiest female pop stars to emerge from the islands since Rihanna.
